The Rape of Nanking

What does anyone know of "The Rape of Nanking?' Only the survivors and relatives of these survivors would really be in a position to elaborate on this sad period of Chinese history. In fact, the Japanese do not even mention this atrocity in their school textbooks. One can even say that it could be compared to the "Great Holocaust" in Europe during World War II. The country of Japan has attempted to not even mention or reference this dark period of history in China. Over 350,000 innocent Chinese were tortued, killed, raped, mutilated, and shot during the Japanese initial incursion into China. Japan looked upon China as being a backward and primitive country fresh for an invasion. With no strong central government and the country controlled and run by warlords, many in Japan with their militaristic attitude, considered this an ideal time in 1939 to invade and conquer China, thereby making the Chinese subservient to Japan.
